Too Cool...for EVERYONE!

This kid really is too cool for anyone! He might have hated the fireworks last night but he had a fun day before he was traumatized!!

But, I guess his dad was cool enough for him...hell, he even shared his cookies!!

4th of July Festivities...or something like 'em...

So, tonight we decided to go to Riverside Park in Murphysboro and watch the fireworks. Let's just say the whole night was a major FAILURE!! First, we wanted to get on the road by 7:30...we didn't leave until 8:00. Awesome. Next we decided to stop at KFC in Murphyboro to pick up a chicken bucket and sides for everyone (we used to do this every year so it's kind of like a tradition). Well, we get to KFC and they are out of chicken so we have to wait 20 minutes for it to get done. Then, after we've already paid the girl tells us that they don't have any more green beans...or corn. So now we are stuck with mashed potatoes and gravy and 2 sides of coleslaw...sound appetizing yet? Then we get three sodas, two diets and a regular...well, of course they were out of diet. The girl says they can't "make" anymore diet...I'm sorry, do you realize that you don't "make" diet coke...its syrupe you idiot! So, we wait for 20 minutes and get absolutely nothing we wanted...

We (me and dad) finally meet up with Patty, Titi, Avery and Titi's little brothers at Riverside...it's 8:45. We get settled, I make the plates for dinner and the fireworks start... Well, I guess they decided to move where they light the fireworks off at because we couldn't see 75% of them...they were behind huge trees! It gets started and Avery absolutely hated it! He couldn't hold onto Patty's neck any harder than he was. Poor little guy hated every second of them! So Patty took Avery home (luckily she thought this might happen so we took 3 cars just in case). Then, the fireworks (that we barely saw) get done and we go to the car...we sit there for 45 minutes without moving an inch! AND, to make it even better, dad's AC isn't working so I was sweating my boobs off while we were sitting there.

Now I'm home. Phew! Next year, if we try to do this again, we will sit where we can see the fireworks, hopefully Avery will love them and we will NOT go to KFC!. Not only was the chicken AWFUL, but it's too expensive. We might as well go to subway where we know it will be good and it's easy!

Even though the whole night turned out to be terrible, I still remember what today is all about. This day reminds me how lucky I am to live in the U.S.A! I hope you all had a great 4th of July!!

A day of Thanks

Lately, there have been a number of unfortunate events take place around me. It seems like the last two weeks have been nothing but bad news. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes bad news to make me realize how lucky I really am. Today is one of those days. Today I want to take time out to thank two of the most important people in my life...

Yep, those are my parents (seriously, how cute are they?!?!?!). It's hard for me to put into words how great they really are. Without them I know for a fact that I wouldn't be where I am today. I am happy to say that I have great qualities from each of them that makes me who I am. They are two of the most selfless people I know. They have both worked their tails off to do what they could for both my sister and I. Now, they have us, a son-in-law, a grandson and will soon have a second grandson and they haven't slowed down one bit. I have absolutely no problem stating that I love to hangout with these two. We have fun together even if it means making fun of eachother (don't worry, it's all in love!).

I really am one of the luckiest girls in the world to be able to call them Mom and Dad. One of these days I hope to be able to show them how thankful I really am, even if that is almost impossible.

So, with that said, Mom and Dad, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do. I can't say Thank You enough. I really an one lucky gal! Love you both so much!

The Bachelorette

Is anyone watching The Bachelorette? Well, we all know I am (since I'm addicted to reality tv) and I swear, some of the guys that are/were on this season are just nuts! Don't get me wrong, they aren't all crazy, there are a couple that I really like! I thought it might be fun to take a little look at the guys who have been fighting for Ali's love...

First is Kasey. He came off a bit strange at first but then he only made himself look worse as the season went on. He had been on 1 date with Ali and decided to go get a tatoo to "prove" to her that he was genuine...dude, now PROVE to us that you aren't crazy because that's gonna be REALLY HARD!

This is Craig M. He is PSYCHO!! Seriously. I mean it...for real...He is seriously a lunatic. I wont waste any more time on him...yuck!

Okay, this is Craig R. He has chapped my ass since day 1! He, in my opinion, is the stereotypical lawyer. Did anyone else notice how he kept saying "okay?" to Ali the first night when he got out of the limo? It was like he was trying to teach her something and wanted to make sure she understood. Grr, he makes me mad!!

This is Chris L. I've liked him from the start. He is so sweet and had a really good relationship with his mom before she died. He's just a cutie!

Last, but not least...this is Roberto..can you say HOTTIE???? Hello!! He's my fav and has been since day 1. Hey Roberto, if you're reading this, give me a call *WINK*

The Infinite List of OMG's!

Okay, to explain this a little bit I must say that every week the girls and I get together for lunch and some of the most random things come out of our mouths. So, we've decided that we have to start a list! They may not be funny to you but we think they are absolutely hilarious...so we begin the list...

1. Jenny "Where are you going?"
Lindsey "I'm going to the P.O"
Jenny "Why do you call it the P.O.?"
Lindsey "Well, what do you call it?"
Jenny "The Bank..."

2. Mandy "You're a Slut?"
Pam "Yeah, I am"
BIG PAUSE
Pam "No, no NOT A SLUT! A SLUG! S-L-U-G!!

3. "I pooped an 'S'"
*everyone looks at me like my head is falling off...
"Seriously! That's when you know you're healthier! If your poop looks like an 'S' its a good thing!"
(I promise, doesn't anyone watch Oprah!?

4. Mandy "I want one of those Vera Wang bags"
Jenny "Those are Vera Bradley bags but nice try"
Mandy "Whatever"
- we love your Vera Wang bag Mandy!!

5. "You're such a CELEBRITY"

Love these girls. Here is a pic of me, Mandy at Linds...

...I promise there is more to come but this is all we could think of at the momemt. Stay tuned...

Working out and Dying...to me they mean the same thing!

So, since I haven't written on my blog in awhile I thought today I would play catch up which is why I've posted 3 or 4 things today. Recently I started working out. Although I absolutely love it I feel like I'm dying at the same time! I've become a member of this group called
Cossfit Southern Illinois". Let me tell you...it is no joke! It consists of short (15-30) minute workouts but they are hardcore! They are all military type workouts, meaning you work every part of your body as hard as possible for a short amount of time. I seriously go until my body won't let me go anymore. Although it kills my muscles (I wasn't able to walk normally for 5 days after the first day) I absolutely love it! I find that I have more energy and I sleep better at night!

Below, is a picture of the trainer, Emma. She is hardcore and kicks total ass! The best part about her is that she will push me when I feel lik I can't go any more. Are you afraid of her? I am!!When I feel comfortable, and look hot (HA!) I'll post before and after pictures...maybe...

School...will it ever end??

So, I've started taking classes to get my masters degree...what was I thinking??? I've always enjoyed school but my goodness I thought I was done! I swear, when I graduate this time really will be my last time! Every night I get home I study, or read or think about these classes. I guess it doesn't help that my first two classes have been the two most boring classes I think I will take...Investments and Economics *PUKE*! Not only am I tired of studying, but Zoey is tired of me studying too. Don't believe me? Here's proof:But, on a brighter note, I'm halfway done with my second class which means in 4 weeks I will only have 10 classes to go. WOOT WOOT!
